Discover the new FARTOOLS sandblasters!

Discover how sandblasters and air blasters are revolutionizing surface stripping for flawless results!

Sandblasting and air blasting are stripping and cleaning techniques that use compressed air to propel abrasive material onto a surface. These abrasives are propelled at high speed onto the surface to be treated. Sandblasting is effective for removing paint, rust, varnish, traces of pollution, or stubborn deposits without damaging the original substrate. This technique is used on various materials such as wood (stairs), metal (gates), and minerals (stone, brick, marble, etc.).

What is the difference between sandblasting booths and sandblasting tanks?

A sandblasting cabinet is a structure (small or large) that allows small objects to be stripped inside the machine.
This provides a dedicated, protected workspace for the user, ensuring optimal safety.
In a closed circuit, the abrasive can be recovered and reused.

A sandblasting tank is a more compact unit that can be used outdoors. It is more suitable for large renovations, for parts that would not fit in a sandblasting booth. It can generally be easily transported to construction sites.
Unlike the booth, the abrasive will be lost.

SANDBLASTING TANK

A sandblasting cabinet is a piece of equipment used for cleaning, surface preparation, and stripping various materials. It works by blasting an abrasive at high speed onto a surface to remove rust, paint, contaminants, or to prepare the surface for subsequent coating. A compressor (not supplied) is required to operate the machine; without it, the sandblasting cabinet will not work.

The sandblasting cabinet allows small parts to be placed inside for careful treatment. The work is carried out statically, offering high precision. Thanks to its closed tank, the user is protected, ensuring safety and protection during use. This equipment is ideal for stripping surfaces, using a different process to that of a renovator, but with a similar objective. The plastic window is equipped with an additional protective film, which is easily replaceable when worn. This protective film is available as a consumable on our website.

In an environmentally friendly approach and thanks to its closed circuit, the abrasive can be recovered and reused several times. In addition, in order to reduce the environmental impact, we have chosen to deliver the cabins unassembled.

There are two types of sandblasting cabinets at Fartools:

The 90-liter sandblasting cabinet - CS90

115101

This space-saving 90L sandblasting cabinet is ideal if you are short on space in your workshop.

Placing it on a workbench will optimize your workspace. It also features built-in lighting.

SANDBLASTING CABINET CS90

The large 220-liter sandblasting cabinet - CS220

115102

This sandblasting cabinet is larger than the C90 and can handle larger parts.

It comes with four legs, allowing you to work comfortably while standing, without taking up space on your workbench. It also features built-in lighting.

Sandblasting tank

A sandblasting tank, like a sandblasting cabinet, is a piece of equipment used for cleaning, surface preparation, and stripping various materials. It works by blasting an abrasive at high speed onto a surface to remove rust, paint, contaminants, or to prepare the surface for subsequent coating.

However, unlike the cabin, it can be used outdoors or in a dedicated location (construction site). It is recommended that you cordon off the area where you will be working to protect it (with tarpaulins and cardboard boxes, for example).

Personal protective equipment is necessary and mandatory when using the machine. You must wear goggles, leather gloves (reaching to the elbow), and a dust mask with a cartridge to avoid inhaling abrasive products.

Sandblasting tank - CS17

115100

This 17L sandblasting tank is small and portable, making it easy to transport. You can easily take it with you to your work sites, thanks in part to its wheeled trolley.

As with sandblasting booths,
you will also need a compressor to operate the tank.

The importance of the compressor

The compressor plays an essential role in the sandblasting process. Without it, the sandblaster cannot be used, as it provides the compressed air necessary for it to function properly.

A small standard compressor is not sufficient; you need a compressor that is powerful enough to generate adequate pressure to clean the parts you need.

It is recommended to choose a compressor with a tank of at least 200L, capable of delivering approximately 250L/min, with a motor power of 3hp.

The working pressure during sandblasting should not exceed 3 to 4 bars.

The different nozzles

The sandblasting cabinets and tanks are equipped with a gun with different nozzles. The choice of nozzle diameter will depend on the abrasive grain size.

If the nozzles wear out or break, don't panic. You can find replacements in the consumables section of our website or in store.

The differents abrasives

The choice of sandblasting abrasive depends on the nature of the surface to be treated, the type of coating, or the desired finish. Each abrasive has unique characteristics in terms of hardness, particle shape, particle size, and abrasion capacity, making them suitable for specific applications.

Common abrasives have different particle sizes (ranging from 0.1 to 0.63 mm) or standard numbers (e.g., No. 5, No. 7, which we sell under the reference numbers: 115114, 115115). Glass bead-based abrasives can also be used. You can find them for sale on our website in the consumables section.
